A Registered Agent is designated to receive service of process (SOP) when a business entity is a party in a legal action such as a lawsuit or summons, as well as documents from the state in regards to your entity.

All Corporations and LLCs doing business in California are required it designate and maintain a Registered Agent. Failure to properly maintain a Registered Agent will result in negative actions with the state.
